What do you do for the Fire Academy?

I’m the Customer Success Manager and I get to work with fellow brothers and sisters every day to ensure they have the tools they need to be a well-trained department. I am proud to partner with the department leaders to build training programs that help to meet the needs of their departments, members, and communities. Each month I present each department’s training leadership an electronic reports care package that helps them to gain insight into the training their members are receiving through The Fire Academy. 

Why are you passionate about the fire Service or LMS industry?

I grew up in a fire station where my first jungle gym was a firetruck. I have been in the Fire and EMS world since 1992. I have served as a Volunteer, Part-time and Career Firefighter and Paramedic. I retired from the fire service in 2015 as the Assistant Chief of Training and in 2017 I retired my Paramedic License.

What do you enjoy doing in your personal time?

Photography. It is my vision to document community events, preserving their history for future generations to see and learn from. Far too often our history ends up on someone’s camera roll and is lost forever.

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about The Fire Academy?

Training is the most important tool in the station. I cannot stress enough that every day the firefighter and EMS provider needs to be training and becoming educated on the strategies and tactics it takes to do their job efficiently and effectively. Their lives, and the lives of those they are sworn to serve depend on it. The Fire Academy is here to help you gain and reinforce that knowledge base. The Fire Academy is an excellent way to collaborate with departments to help them build a training program that will benefit their members and ultimately their communities.

What are you looking forward to most in the year ahead?

I am looking forward to building strong relationships with as many Fire and EMS Departments across the nation as possible. I want to ensure that they are given the tools they need to succeed so that their members can serve their communities and that “Everyone Goes Home.”
