STEVEN HAMILTON has been a member of the fire service since 1996. He is a captain with the Fort Jackson (SC) Fire Department and a reserve deputy with the Richland County Sheriff's Department. He served four years as a firefighter in the United States Air Force and volunteer departments in Texas and New York. He is a certified fire officer III, instructor III, and NREMT-B. Hamilton is an FDIC educational advisory board member, a contributor to Fire Engineering, and the author of the training DVD "Responding to Scenes of Violence." He is a member of the NFPA 3000 technical committee.
