DENISE SMITH is a professor of health and human physiological sciences at Skidmore College and director of the First Responder Health and Safety Laboratory. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois. She has published more than 70 scientific peer-reviewed articles and has been awarded more than $10 million in funding from FEMA-AFG, DHS S&T, NIOSH, and DOD.
