Regardless of the patient’s age, the goal is the same – to provide safe and timely transport for the patient. There are crucial considerations EMS providers must implement when transporting pediatric patients in both emergent and non-emergent situations. In this course, we’ll examine standards and recommendations from national organizations like the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), the DOT (Department of Transportation), and the CDC (Center for Disease Control). We’ll monitor, study, and review the safe transportation of children in ground ambulances.
