LARRY SCHULTZ is a 39-year veteran of the fire service and the assistant chief of the Anne Arundel County (MD) Fire Department. He retired in 2011 as chief of operations for the Washington (DC) Fire Department. He previously was the assistant chief of operations in the Alexandria (VA) Fire Department.
